When Pleasant Lake freezes over, a new kind of adventure begins at Twin Springs Resort. Ice fishing season brings guests out onto the lake for quiet mornings and the promise of a good catch.

Whether you’re an experienced angler or trying ice fishing for the first time, winter on the lake is a great way to make memories at Twin Springs.

A Peaceful Way to Enjoy Pleasant Lake

Ice fishing is as much about the atmosphere as it is the catch. The lake in winter is calm and still, with snow-covered trees lining the shoreline and wide-open views in every direction. It’s a slower pace—one that invites conversation, reflection, and a deeper connection to the elements.

What You Can Catch

Pleasant Lake spans more than 1,000 acres, with depths reaching over 70 feet. The lake is home to a variety of fish, including walleye, northern pike, largemouth bass, bluegill, and other panfish. Conditions vary throughout the season, but January and February are popular months thanks to consistent ice and active fishing.

Perfect for Beginners and Seasoned Anglers

Ice fishing at Twin Springs is approachable for all experience levels. Beginners enjoy the relaxed pace and simplicity, while seasoned anglers appreciate the opportunity to fish familiar waters in a completely different season.

If you’re new to ice fishing, nearby outfitters and bait shops can help with gear, supplies, and local advice. Many guests also enjoy learning from friends or family members and turning it into a shared winter tradition.

Warm Up After a Day on the Ice

One of the best parts of ice fishing at Twin Springs Resort is what comes after. Lakeview—a spacious four-bedroom cabin—is the perfect place to warm up, make a hot meal, and settle in for the night.

An ice house is also available to rent, providing a warm, convenient setup right on the lake for longer days of fishing. Ice house rentals are $300 for the first day, with additional days available at $225 per day and a two-night minimum. Rental includes generator, propane and ice hole clean-out. All you will need is your gear!

When renting the ice house, Lakeview Cabin is available at a discounted rate of $150 per night, making it an ideal setup for groups planning a multi-day fishing trip.
