A man on a Minnesota lake trying to catch a fish.

Fishing is a great way to relax, pass the time, or bond with someone special. Central Minnesota has some of the best lakes in the state for doing just that. It’s one of the reasons why Twin Springs Resort in Minnesota is a phenomenal place to get out on a lake and get yourself a fish. For starters, our cabins are set right on Pleasant Lake, and we are nearby many other lakes in Central Minnesota. Take a look at these great lakes near the resort that are primarily within walking distance.

Pleasant Lake

We need to mention this one first. Not just because it’s probably the first lake you will see when you step into your Twin Springs Resort rental unit, but it also happens to be a great fishing lake. The lake is one of the larger lakes with varying degrees of depth in the area making catching fish here one of the better places in Minnesota to do so.

Boss Lake

This is another lake that we need to mention up top for similar reasons to Pleasant Lake. It’s near the resort property, and it also is a great lake to fish with a friend. One thing you will notice is that it is smaller than Pleasant Lake, but by no means are you less likely to snag a great fish or two.

Long Lake

Long Lake is the smallest nearby lake. It sits right next to Pleasant and Boss lakes. It’s still a lake that will be well worth the visit. You’ll find smaller fish here, but it’s worth checking out, especially if Pleasant and Boss lakes are busy.

Paquet Lake

Paquet Lake sits south of the resort and flows into Mud Lake. It’s close to Hackensack too, so if you need to run into town, this is an excellent lake to come back to afterward. There are some nice little pockets to cast a line out on Paquet Lake so give it a shot.

Mud Lake

Mud Lake is great because it connects to Paquet and Pleasant Lake. This connection makes it easy to stop by three lakes in the day. Like Paquet Lake, there are a lot of little pockets that you can slip into for a moment and catch something.

If This Isn’t Enough, There’s More to See

These lakes are close to the resort, so you can spend less time traveling and more time fishing. But, if you are familiar with these five lakes, you’ll be happy to know that there are plenty more in the area. Swing by these great Minnesota lakes; Stony Lake or Larson Lake and try to catch a fish. Both are near Twin Springs Resort and feature beautiful scenery in the spring and plenty of hungry fish. Twin Springs Resort offers nine lakeside cabins near Hackensack, MN, on pristine Pleasant Lake. If you would like to book a room, please visit our website or call 800-279-5179.
