Fishing On Leech Lake

Due to its unique shape and size, Leech Lake has a wide variety of fish to catch. The lake has 230 miles of shoreline and reaches a maximum depth of 150 feet. In addition, lots of rivers and bays feed into the lake. The type of fish that you can expect to catch include walleyes, northern pikes, muskies, bass, perches, bluegills, crappies, and many other species. 

There is a wide variety of fish to catch, which means many different places to catch fish. You can fly fish in the Leech River, which feeds into the lake. There are also several bays connected to Leech Lake, like Boy Bay, Headquarters Bay, Sucker Bay, Shingobee Bay, and Waboose Bay.

Long Bow Golf Club

The Long Bow Golf Club is located along the shores of Leech Lake. This 18-hole, 6,500-yard par 72 course covers 300 acres in the northern Minnesota woods. Off the green, you can enjoy the driving range, practice green, and outstanding clubhouse. The course was designed by golf architect Dan Helbling and former PGA tour pro Mike Morely. It is the best golf course you will find in northern Minnesota.

Walker City Park Lighthouse

For those who enjoy visiting lighthouses, there is one in downtown Walker. It’s a small but charming attraction along the shoreline of Leech Lake. The lighthouse is located in Walker City Park, a relaxing place to view the lake. It’s also not far from many of the downtown attractions in Walker.
